JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
FOR GRADES K-5 ---- Dec 18, 19, 20, 21 2012

WHAT IS JUMP ROPE FOR HEART?
This is a fun fundraiser for the American Heart Association. AHA, along with researching heart disease and fighting heart disease and stroke, provides educational materials, jump ropes, and instructional videos to our school and hundreds of other schools.
JRFH is a school fitness and educational program. It teaches the value of cardiovascular fitness while raising money for AHA’s programs. During your child’s JRFH event, students in multi-age groups take turns jumping rope in a variety of ways, using short ropes, long ropes, Chinese jump ropes and jump bands. After seeing the Forbes Flyers jump rope team on Nov 18, we are revved up and ready to jump!

WHAT ABOUT DONATIONS?
A collection envelope is being sent home with each child in grades K-5. It is not necessary to collect money to participate in the “Jump”, and we are aware that many of us struggle with finances, but every contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated!
Contributions should be returned to the box in the office on or before Dec 21.
Or, students can go to AHA’s website www.americanheart.org/jump to obtain pledges from family or friends. Jumpers who raise five dollars or more receive thank you gifts. As a bonus, for every $2000 collected by us, the Magnet School will receive a $100 gift certificate for PE equipment.

VOLUNTEERING
If you would like to volunteer to assist at JRFH, please contact Mrs. DuBaldo (ddubaldo@ crec.org or send a note in with your child). We will need adults to help organize jumpers, and turn the long ropes for the jumpers. Rope jumping expertise is welcomed, but is not required! Please join the fun!
